Job Summary:

 

The Aftermarket Planner role at our Mocksville, North Carolina Remanufacturing & Technology Center (RTC) is as challenging as it is rewarding!  This role reports directly to the Machining Manufacturing Manager and is responsible for the purchasing and production planning functions for their assigned value streams.  The successful candidate must have an overwhelming desire to serve our customers and champion for world class delivery metrics in every aspect of their job. 

 

 Responsibilities:  

 

  • Run MRP and ensure work orders are in place to fulfill all firm demand and safety stocks levels on all assembly items. 
  • Ensure BOM/WO are driving correct requirements (New vs Used Parts).
  • Review MRP Messages and make sounds decisions to release, firm, cancel, or defer work based upon current inventory, demand, and capacity.
  • Review MRP Messages and procure all items to fill firm demand and safety stock requirements.
  • Manage outside process (OSP) work orders, purchase orders, drop ships, and trucking arrangements.
  • Monitor incoming parts for timeliness and works with suppliers to expedite parts as needed to meet on-time shipments of units.
  • Maintains accurate purchase order information in the ERP system. Modifies order release due dates, quantities, and closes purchase orders, etc, based on planning demand.
  • Monitor and correct all GRNI (Good received not invoiced) issues.
  • Monitor and correct all TAP queue issues (EX: good invoiced not received / Incorrect pricing).
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels and safety stock are maintained as appropriate.
  • Submit Sales and Inventory Operation (SIOP) plan to Materials Manager, Production Supervisor and Team leads.
  • Maintain proactive shortage identification and management - help flag root causes & corrective actions.
  • Schedules assigned product on the factory floor and balance room.  Responsible for entire order life cycle, from order date to shipment date while improving customer on-time shipments.
  • Seamlessly implements engineering and procurement changes so customer is not impacted.
  • Work together with relevant stakeholders to improve inventory turns.
  • Reviews bill of material changes and updates ERP system with planner, lead times, order policy information to ensure proper planning of new parts into production
  • Works independently with suppliers to manage material supply to ensure on time deliveries   

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 3+ years' experience in production planning or procurement 
  • MRP experience
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • APICS CPIM  preferred
  • Experience in Oracle 11i or R12 preferred
  • 9 Step Problem Solving experience preferred
  • Ability to understand manufacturing engineering processes and to interpret blueprints 
  • Must have a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
  • Must be action-oriented and organized to handle large volume of tasks.
