Job Summary

The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing Ingersoll Rand compressed air products and components. The role includes troubleshooting and providing customer support services, while educating clients on product functionality and applications. The technician identifies issues and collaborates closely with the Service and Sales teams. Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to identify problems with equipment or tools are essential.


Area of responsibility: Italy

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation activities at customer sites in accordance with Ingersoll Rand procedures and Health & Safety guidelines
  • Install new systems at customer locations, following a schedule shared with the Service Coordinator
  • Prepare and maintain assigned tools to ensure efficiency and success in all service interventions
  • Report any technical issues or complaints raised during commissioning and ensure efficient information flow for proper follow-up with customers and internal teams
  • Provide detailed reporting of activities, both internally and to customers
  • Collaborate closely with the following functions:
    Sales
    Sales Support
    Quality
    Internal Aftermarket Workshop
    Technical Support

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Technical diploma (e.g., Industrial Technician)
  • 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry (mechanical, chemical, plant design, installation)
  • Certified F-Gas qualification preferred
  • 2+ years of experience as a refrigeration technician preferred
  • Experience working in an international environment
  • Willingness and availability for frequent business travel in Italy and abroad (Europe) is required
  • Strong customer-facing skills
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Experience in mechanical is required
  • Experience in electromechanics/electrotechnics is required
  • Experience with centrifugal compressors will be considered a plus
  • Compressors controller expertise is required
  • Communication protocols expertise is preferred (DCS, Fieldbus, Modbus,..)
