Frontend Engineer - E-Commerce

Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Tech Lead with a robust fullstack development background to spearhead our B2B E-Commerce initiatives. This pivotal role involves not only leading the technical development but also managing stakeholder interactions and organizing the workflow using SCRUM methodologies. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of both frontend and backend systems, with proven experience in driving projects to successful completion. You will guide our development teams, collaborate with product owners, and ensure our E-Commerce solutions are scalable, efficient, and aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical planning, development, and maintenance of our E-Commerce platform with a hands-on approach in coding both frontend (Next.js, React) and backend (Node.js, Java, and .NET) components.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for project stakeholders, effectively communicating technical challenges and progress, and ensuring their requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Organize and lead SCRUM sprints, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure efficient and effective team performance.
  • Mentor junior developers and engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment to encourage knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Oversee the integration of commercetools with other systems, ensuring robustness and scalability of the platform.
  • Develop and implement best practices for code quality, security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging the latest technologies and methodologies in fullstack development.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with product owners and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A high desire to learn and grow, paired with a diligent work ethic and strong curiosity about technology.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with a strong fullstack development background using JavaScript, React, Node.js, and related technologies, experience with Java and .NET is a plus.
  • Experience with development of cloud services and the integration with SaaS services, especially MACH services, into a composed solution.
  • Proven leadership skills with at least 3 years of experience as a tech lead or senior developer role, ideally within an E-Commerce or similar technical environment.
  • Extensive experience with SCRUM or other agile development methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills and experience in managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent communication (English) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in database management, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB).
  • In-depth understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs, and experience with modern development practices and tools (Webpack, Babel, npm).
  • Experience in continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) environments (e.g., GitLab).

Additional Notes:
