Harrier Pneumatics have been a long established compressed air industry leader for nearly 30 years.  Our core business is Sales, Installation & Maintenance of Air Compressors, Compressed Air Equipment and Systems. 

 

Focused primarily within the South West but sometimes traveling to other parts of the country, our longstanding customers vary from workshops and garages to industrial and food production sites, Utilities and many other nationally recognised names.

 

Our main brands are Gardner Denver, Hydrovane and CompAir products and we have direct access to factory training and technical support.

 

Job Summary

As the Service Operations Manager you will be responsible for the operational, EHS and administration aspects of running of a service facility and for developing and motivating a quality service team with a focus on customers, creating long-term value and delivering premier performance.

 

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive all aspects of EHS within the service environment, and to develop a culture of continuous improvement and industry leadership in this vital area.
  • Recruit (when required), develop, and motivate a quality service team (both office based and field based engineers) developing skill-sets and utilising performance management tools to maximize employee engagement and to develop sustained superior performance.
  • Assume responsibility for the Financial Management of the business; managing revenues, costs, inventories and assets to drive a successful P&L
  • Support the recurring revenue strategy and build customer loyalty and retention through delivering innovative, customer focussed and value added service solutions
  • Devise and implement the necessary business improvement tools, systems and processes required to improve operational efficiency and control and to deliver a best in class service experience

 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Good interpersonal and IT skills
  • Experience in the compressed air industry would be valued but isn’t essential
  • Self-motivated, yet a proven team player
  • Comfortable multi-tasking across activities, people, systems and processes

 

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Site based with customer visits as required

 

Key Competencies

  • Minimum 3 years of service management experience required (field based engineer management an advantage)
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship building skills are critical
  • Must possess good written and numeric skills
  • Strong commercial acumen essential
  • Demonstrates a poised and confident demeanour that reassures others, commands respect, acts with humility and respect for others and advocates for the organisation
