Job Summary

 

The Senior Project Manager is a senior-level professional responsible for independently managing and delivering high-impact, cross-functional pump product development projects. This role provides mentorship and leadership to junior project managers and team members and plays a key role in shaping and optimizing project management practices at Thomas and Welch Pumps. The Senior Project Manager collaborates closely with executive leadership to align project execution with business strategy.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the planning, execution, and commercialisation of large-scale, complex pump product development projects, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of project managers and coordinators, fostering accountability, continuous learning, and high performance.
  • Serve as the project management subject matter expert, driving best practices in project planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and governance.
  • Develop and oversee project plans, budgets, schedules, resource allocations, and priorities for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality, marketing, supply chain, customers, and external partners.
  • Proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve project risks, issues, and bottlenecks, escalating critical matters to senior leadership when appropriate.
  • Lead project governance activities, including design reviews, gate reviews, executive reporting, key decision-making forums, and post-launch evaluations.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and methodologies, while representing the company in customer meetings, industry forums, and strategic initiatives.

 

Basic Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Significant experience leading complex product development projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing project teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
