Human Resources Intern

 

The Human Resources Intern will aid in the recruiting of employees, perform administrative tasks, and services to support effective and efficient operations of the human resource department.  The ideal candidate will be pursuing or earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources with a strong interest in learning the many facets of human resources.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews applications and screens candidates based upon job-specific responsibilities and requirements
  • Schedules interviews with qualified candidates and hiring managers
  • Create and extend offers to candidates identified to be hired
  • Update job descriptions for new openings
  • Schedule pre-employment testing for new hires
  • Follow up and communicate candidate’s status to hiring managers
  • Lead new hire orientation for all new hires
  • Prepare orientation packets to be completed by new hires
  • Update HR and Benefits information bulletin boards
  • Update Weekly Ivyland Newsletter for all employees
  • Maintain employee documents (i.e. employee files, policies, and procedures, etc.)
  • Assist in organizing the Employee Appreciation and Engagement events

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (working towards or achieved)
  • Some experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, or a similar work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and Publisher, and Canva
