Summary of Position:

                Ingersoll Rand is currently hiring for a supply chain intern. This person would be working closely with the material planning and production scheduling teams. They would be in charge of assisting with purchasing materials and creating schedules. This person would be expected to work in office full time during the summer.  

Responsibilities:

                The actual scope will depend on business need / project, but examples include:

  • Work with production scheduling team to release production jobs, resolve material shortages, and support the on time completion / shipment of orders.
  • Provide analysis and develop strategies to improve on time delivery and drive down past due backlog.
  • Coordinate production schedules with manufacturing leaders to optimize line output and productivity.
  • Ad hoc data analysis requests utilizing Oracle reporting suite.
  • Courteous and timely response to customer inquiries regarding order ship dates.
  • Follow up with Internal/External suppliers regarding past due purchase orders impacting production.
  • Working with cross-organizational teams to solve problems and drive supply chain solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must be currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering.
    • A Supply Chain or Logistics focus is a plus, but not required.
