Job Summary
The VP-Procurement CSS EMEA will be responsible for the strategic sourcing function of the Compression Systems and Solutions business in Europe, reporting directly to the VP & GM CSS EMEA. This role will also have a dotted line report to the VP – Global Sourcing & Logistics. Currently, this position manages a team of 12-15 associates.
Responsibilities
The VP-Procurement CSS EMEA is responsible for:
- Expanding Margins
- Develop and execute commodity strategies to deliver YOY direct material productivity including balancing in-region spend with best cost country spend.
- Utilize and expand established best practice (reverse auction, PPV workshops, I2V teardowns, etc).
- Manage supplier relationships and oversee new supplier development to reduce overall supply chain risk, including reduction of sole/single sourced vendors.
- Work with New Product Development and I2V teams to utilize preferred suppliers and ensure best cost and quality.
- Lead synergy delivery (per business case) for new acquisitions in the region.
- Allocating Capital Effectively
- Identify and execute strategies to deliver net working capital by extending supplier terms
- Partner with operations team to identify and execute on opportunities to reduce inventory
- Expand vendor managed and consignment inventory agreements with suppliers to improve net working capital while preserving/reducing lead time
- Deploying Talent
- Continuously review, develop, and improve talent on the CSS EMEA strategic sourcing team
- Adhere to all corporate performance management development processes and timelines
- Leading Sustainably
- Ensure compliance with current and future EU regulations impacting supply chain.
- Maintain awareness of future EU regulations and their potential impact to IR.
- Improve supplier compliance with in-house and third party regulatory best practices
- Assist in completing submissions to third party regulatory agencies as needed.
Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, operations, business or related field
- 10+ years strategic sourcing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership position
- Demonstrated excellence in supplier/category strategy development, vendor assessment, and negotiation preparation/execution
- Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.
- Ability to travel up to 50%. This travel will be primarily to manufacturing sites in region but may involve global travel to supplier locations or for internal meetings.
