Job Summary

Garo, part of Ingersoll Rand group, is the world leader in liquid ring technology and provides customized products and solutions for the most demanding applications in the Oil & Gas, Chemical and Petrochemical industries. We are looking for a Quality Engineer that will report into our Quality Manager and will be responsible to manage the projects assigned for all the following operational aspects:

 

Responsibilities

  • issue of the project Inspection and Test Plan
  • verifies and approves, for items considered as critical, the ITP issued by the suppliers in order to confirm that they are in accordance with the project requirements.
  • issue and review of project procedures in accordance with the document list (typically NDE procedures, test procedures, welding book)
  • support to the project team (Project Management, Project Engineering, Purchasing) for all quality related aspects
  • participates where required to the project Kick Off Meetings (KOM) and manages the Pre-inspection meetings (PIM) with the customer both at Garo and at the offices of the involved suppliers
  • verifies the conformity of the material at the suppliers' premises before delivery to the packager
  • manages calls to the customer and the related tests due by the Inspection and Test Plan
  • issues the Manufacturer Data Records (MDR) during the project development and within the terms established by the contract with the customer
  • guarantees compliance with the quality requirements established by ITP, procedures, GARO standards, customer specifications and contractual requirements through inspections and expediting visits to suppliers and packagers.
  • supports the Quality Manager in updating, implementing and continuously improving the Quality Management System

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma
  • Fluency in English to communicate with suppliers/customers and reading project documents.
  • Knowledge of Office package (word, excel) and SAP

 

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Approx. 70% of office and smart working, 30% visits at suppliers sites.

 

Key Competencies

  • Former Experience in:

 

      • quality control and management of related certification: management of tests and verification of material certificates (type 3.2, 3.1 2.2), issue of test reports
      • non-destructive tests (visual inspection of welding, Penetrant Test and Magnetic Test
      • management of quality documents such as ITP, procedures, welding book

 

  • Qualification of second level operator for non-destructive tests (VT/PT/UT/MT/RT reading) is a plus.
  • Welding engineer qualification is a plus
