We are seeking High‑performing Capital Equipment Business Development Manager to join our National Power Generation team, based in Queensland. This role is ideal for a motivated, results‑oriented sales professional with OEM‑backed solution sales experience coupled with an understanding of High‑value and complex sales cycles

A key focus of this role is developing opportunities in the data centre market, plus other market segments such as Mining, civil, energy, and infrastructure..


About the Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for your own territory driving growth, developing new business, and managing key accounts strategically across the Queensland territory. You will work closely with operators, developers, EPCs, consultants, and internal teams to Influence specifications and deliver tailored solutions, including diesel generator sets, and plantroom Balance of Plant along with other CAPS products.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maximise sales and profitability across the Power Generation product portfolio, with a strong focus on turnkey diesel generator projects.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities across data centres, industrial sectors, and emerging markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Work with engineering and estimation teams for customised & competitive power solutions.
  • Develop a strong sales pipeline and manage the full sales cycle, including enquiry, proposals and negotiations.
  • Provide market insights, competitor activity, and recommendations to the executive team.
  • Assist with business development strategy & go-to-market plans.
  • Represent CAPS Australia at conferences, industry events, and trade shows.

About You

  • Trade background minimum; Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development or High‑value, complex sales equipment, ideally in mechanical or electrical industries.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Highly self‑motivated, strategic, and results driven.
  • Existing industry network in Queensland; including data centre experience highly regarded.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
