Job Objective: |
|
|
This role is accountable for management and the safe execution of engineering projects, assist in preparation of engineering tender responses and provision of engineering technical services and applications support for power generation related products.
|
|
|
Nature and Scope |
|
|
This role is accountable for management and execution of engineering projects, assist in preparation of engineering tender responses, provision of technical services and applications support for sales and field service for customised products in CAPS.
|
|
|
Duties and Responsibilities: |
|
|

Project Management and Execution |
|
|
Review project technical scope, budget, delivery requirements and assess feasibility |
|
|
Ensure technical compliance with project specifications and applicable standards |
|
|
Ensure project outputs meets the needs of your customer. |
|
|
Manage projects to be on-budget against an ‘as ordered’ PMU. |
|
|
Manage projects to be delivered in full, on time. |
|
|
Report weekly the status of all projects - cost, payment milestones, delivery or technical issues. |
|
|
Conduct project close out reviews to review success and to document lessons learned. |
|
|
Where required attend or host meetings with clients, suppliers or subcontractors in support of project completion. |
|
|
Tender analysis, preparation and support Internal & External |
|
|
Interpret technical project specifications. |
|
|
Write technical and commercial exceptions to specifications protecting CAPS and the customer. |
|
|
Select appropriate equipment and customisations to meet the specifications and site conditions. |
|
|
Conduct basic preliminary design in support of accurate costings and information for customers. |
|
|
Conservatively estimate final costs for OEM equipment and customisations to specifications. |
|
|
Follow the standard process for engineering tender response generation. |
|
|
Support sales with technical assistance in post submission TQs, meetings and presentations. |
|
|
|
|
|
Relationships Internal: |
|
|
Where required, assist sales team in reviewing tenders and other forms of RFQ |
|
|
Communicate with Finance regarding applicable CAPS commercial conditions. |
|
|
Communicate with Sales when tender or RFQ submission dates cannot be met.
|
|
|
Relationships External: |
|
|
Develop design in liaison with customer, consultant and other subcontractors to meet the project specifications intent |
|
|
When required, attend project site |
|
|
Engineering Customisation of Product |
|
|
Execute engineering design for technical aspects of customisations and modifications to Product within my qualifications and level of experience, including: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Work with Engineering Services in KL for cost efficient documentation generation and document control |
|
|
Communicate with OEMs to monitor delivery and configuration of equipment to ensure they meet the specification and customer’s requirement. |
|
|
Work closely with all stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure modifications are fit-for-purpose and costed appropriately to optimise profit margins. |
|
|
Execute engineering design for technical aspects of customisations and modifications to Product within my qualifications and level of experience, including: |
|
|
Component and Equipment selection |
|
|
|
|
|
Product Validation |
|
|
To inspect, evaluate and test as necessary all engineering project related equipment, materials and works completed by OEM manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors and manufacturing / service departments to ensure it meets the project specified output performance, quality requirements and applicable Australian standards. |
|
|
General Administration |
|
|
Ensure accurate timesheets are kept updated every week so that: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Conduct other reasonable engineering and business-related duties, within my capacity and qualifications, as assigned by my manager from time to time. |
|
|
To work efficiently and comply with all company policies and procedures. |
|
|
Complete all training requirements assigned to me, in person, or on the CAPS PDP platform as required. |
|
|
Operate at all times within any limits assigned to me under the CAPS Authority Matrix for expenditure and quotations. |
|
