Job Summary (Senior Engineer- Rotary Air End Design)

This position will be a strong individual contributor responsible for design & development of rotary screw compression subsystem. 


Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for mechanical design of rotary compression module involving rotor, casing and bearings for specific pressure & flow requirements.

  • Responsible for developing analytical tools for rotor profile design, scalability & performance prediction aligning with latest technological trends.

  • Responsible for verifying the subsystem design for performance & reliability using analytical methods like FEA & CFD in static & dynamic conditions.

  • Responsible for release of drawings and BOM for new design in ERP system.

  • Provide Engineering support to manufacturing of compression modules.

  • Ensure performance, quality, and reliability are maintained throughout the design cycle.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering design, documentation, and bill of material for the design.

  • Support product transfers and regional New Product Development.

  • Investigate and execute engineering change (or product improvement) requests, non-conforming material reports and supplier deviation change requests.

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with team members within engineering and from other departments.

  • Provide input on continuous improvement opportunities for design processes as well as products.

  • Drive technological innovation in the field of air/gas compression.


Qualifications:

BE in Mechanical Engineering with excellent academics and minimum of 8-10 years of experience in product design and development of rotary screw compression module.    


Key Competencies:

 

  • Solid background in design and manufacturing principles, with experience in rotary screw compression module design.

  • Proficiency in mathematical tools, FEA & CFD analytical tools must. 

  • Plant or manufacturing operation experience preferred.

  • Experience with quality and reliability processes, supplier qualification, and part approval requirements.

  • Ability to navigate projects or opportunities with limited definition and provide business and technical feedback on their merit.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively to peers and groups and break down complex analysis into a format that can be understood by non-technical audience.

  • Knowledge of designing air compressor, drafting and computer aided design, applies knowledge to assigned tasks; or knowledge in product definition, product configuration, and bills of materials.

  • Good understanding of product configuration and product applications are a plus.

  • Proficiency in tolerance stack up and in design calculations is preferred

  • Basic proficiency in 3-D modeling and drafting required.  Proficiency with Creo & Ansys
