Job Summary:
- The candidate will support NPD, Lifecycle and i2V (innovate to Value) Engg. projects for Industrial Air Compressors and Dryers as required by Product / site teams in Latin America.
- The candidate will perform Mechanical Design, selection of static parts & sub-assemblies used in the Packaging of Industrial Air Compressors using calculations, standards etc. and create 3D CAD assemblies, drawings for manufacture.
- typically Large, Sheet metal, Piping Assemblies for Compressor Packages, integrating equipment and Subsystems in a 3D layout
- Prepare accurate engineering BoMs, assembly, drawings etc. for ECR, ECN process in Windchill PLM
- Execute engineering work in alignment with ongoing projects, ensuring technical, time, and quality requirements.
- Engage with key Global stakeholders and meet business expectations
- Mechanical design calculations to verify existing designs or select new ones.
- Develop presentation/ documentation material in support of NPD or i2V Design reviews, RCAs etc.
- Communicate effectively while working remotely with global engineering teams.
Essential Skills (Key Competencies):
- Min. 3 years: Design experience with Compressor / Blower / Vacuum Pump / very similar packaged, rotating equipment (like Gen-sets) including Subsystem sizing, selection & integration e.g. Motors, Heat exchangers, Dryers, Valves etc.
- Expertise in Large Sheet metal and piping assemblies for Pneumatic or Hydraulic systems – 2+ years
- Expertise in Large Assembly & Top–down, bottom-up modelling using CREO 9 (or higher), Inventor (2019 or higher) and Windchill PLM – 2+ years of hands-on experience
- Proficient in English and able to communicate well with global stake holders
Desired Skills:
- Proficient in CREO and Inventor, as also with PLM processes in Windchill. Basic knowledge of ERP systems in SAP or Oracle will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Pneumatic, Hydraulic Piping, P&ID, pressure vessels, flange and fitting standards is very desirable.
- Working knowledge of GD & T, ASME Y14.5 requirements in Drawings and basic tolerance stack-up
- Fundamental understanding of mechanics, materials, structures and its application to product design and function
- Experienced in Mechanical design of parts or assemblies as per International Standards like ASTM, ASME Sec. VIII, Data handbooks etc.
- Strong individual contributor with ability to work, collaborate with Cross-functional teams and manage work flows independently.
Qualification & Experience
- B.E / B.Tech / M. Tech in Mechanical, Automobile Engineering (Full-time course)
- Strong proficiency in CAD systems CREO and Inventor, Inventor and PLM, pref. Windchill.
- 3 to 6 years of overall experience with NPD, Lifecycle Engg. and VAVE of Packaged Compressors or similar Rotating, Heavy mechanical equipment.
Personal Skills
- Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English are necessary.
- Proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time.
- Conversant with Microsoft Office tools – Word; Excel; Power Point etc.
- Flexible to travel within India / overseas for short durations, based on business need.
