Job Summary:
We are in search of a Lab Engineer with experience in the testing of industrial rotating equipment such as blowers, vacuum pumps, and air compressors. The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive understanding of the physics behind fluid flow and possess strong engineering fundamentals. With a proven track record in flow measurement, performance, and noise and vibration testing compliant with global testing standards, this role is pivotal to our continued commitment to excellence in product testing and development.
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
Testing & Validation
- Set up, operate, and monitor laboratory test rigs for blowers, vacuum pumps, and compressors
- Perform performance tests including flow, pressure, temperature, vibration, noise, efficiency, and power consumption
- Conduct durability, reliability, leak, and functional testing as per test plans and standards
- Execute tests according to internal procedures, industry standards, and customer specifications.
- Plan and coordinate with global product development and R&D engineers to establish testing parameters, plan and conduct tests, track progress, and compile detailed analysis and reports
Data Collection & Reporting
- Accurately record test data using manual logs and data acquisition systems
- Analyze basic test results and identify deviations, failures, or abnormal behavior
- Prepare test reports, charts, and summaries for engineering and quality teams
- Maintain proper documentation and traceability of test activities
Equipment & Lab Management
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
- Ensure test setups meet safety and accuracy requirements
- Coordinate periodic calibration of sensors, gauges, and measurement devices
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
Desired skills:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in testing or laboratory work for rotating equipment, compressors, blowers, or pumps with a deep understanding of the physics of fluid flow.
- Hands-on experience in sensors, instruments, valves, electrical systems, and fluid dynamics related to the testing of industrial rotating equipment.
- Proficient in testing procedures for flow measurement, performance, noise, and vibration, ensuring compliance with relevant industry benchmarks and standards.
- Knowledge of blowers, compressors, and vacuum pump fundamentals.
- Understand and interpret relevant testing standards, including ISO, ASTM, ASME.
- Conduct lab tests in compliance with applicable ISO standards, such as ISO 5167‑1 & 2, ISO 13443, and ISO 3744.
- Hands-on experience in using software tools such as LabVIEW.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively articulating complex technical concepts and findings.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet stringent deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
