Job & Division Summary: 

The Modern Workplace Engineer designs, supports, and continuously improves Microsoft 365 workplace services that enable secure collaboration, productivity, automation, and AI-enabled ways of working across the enterprise. This role partners with IT, security, business stakeholders, and platform owners to operate and govern core services including Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, Power Platform, Copilot, and related Microsoft 365 capabilities.

Responsibilities

The Modern Workplace Engineer is responsible for the daily operation, governance, and continuous improvement of Microsoft 365 workplace platforms, with an emphasis on secure collaboration, user experience, automation, and measurable service outcomes.

  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Entra ID-integrated experiences, and related collaboration workloads.
  • Implement and maintain governance standards for Teams, SharePoint sites, groups, guest access, third-party apps, ownership, lifecycle management, and service configuration.
  • Support Power Platform governance, including environment management, security groups, admin roles, managed environment adoption, and app or flow lifecycle practices.
  • Contribute to Microsoft Copilot and workplace AI governance by supporting readiness, monitoring, policy alignment, app deployment, user enablement, and secure adoption practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, service requests, and escalations across modern workplace platforms while improving knowledge articles, runbooks, and repeatable support processes.
  • Use PowerShell, Microsoft admin centers, reporting tools, and automation to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual work, and maintain accurate platform data.
  • Partner with security, infrastructure, service desk, application, and business teams to deliver reliable workplace technology solutions aligned to enterprise standards.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 services such as Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Microsoft 365 admin center, and Entra ID-connected workloads.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 governance, access management, lifecycle management, service health, compliance concepts, and enterprise collaboration controls.
  • Experience with PowerShell, administrative scripting, reporting, or automation to support platform operations and repeatable processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, document findings, create runbooks or knowledge articles, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Desired Skills

  • Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, Security, or Power Platform.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, agent lifecycle management, AI governance, or responsible AI adoption programs.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, ITIL-based support processes, SLA reporting, dashboards, or operational metrics.
  • Experience with Power Platform managed environments, pipelines, security roles, data loss prevention policies, or environment cleanup activities.
  • Experience working in a global enterprise environment with cross-functional IT, security, and business teams.
