Job & Division Summary:
Process Engineering support for ETO (Engineer to Order) projects for Ingersoll Rand Products.
Responsibilities
- Perform selection and sizing of process components (valves, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.) in compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Develop and deliver Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for rotating equipment packages and associated systems.
- Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and global project partners to finalize process design and engineering documentation.
- Participate in customer reviews and discussions related to HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) and SIL (Safety Integrity Level) for process safety and reliability.
- Create and maintain project plans and tracking mechanisms, ensuring high On-Time Delivery (OTD) and First Pass Yield (FPY) for all process engineering deliverables.
Industry Experience: Experience in Process Industries, oil & gas, chemical, power plant or other similar industries as an Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer or similar roles.
Mandatory Skills
- Exposure to reviewing pre‑ and post‑order documents, including customer specifications and vendor documentation.
- Proven ability to independently develop and release P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and core process documentation, with working proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD tools.
- Strong hands‑on experience in process calculations, including heat & material balance, equipment and valve sizing, pressure drop calculations, utility consumption, and safety relief valve sizing.
- Working knowledge of international standards and codes applicable to packaged equipment (ASME, API, ISO, PED, ATEX) and participation in HAZOP / SIL reviews.
Desired skills:
- Experience in process engineering for ETO rotating equipment packages (compressors, dryers, auxiliary systems), covering inquiry into execution phases.
- Experience in selection and integration of rotating and static process equipment (compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, control valves) within packaged systems.
- Exposure to reviewing pre‑ and post‑order documents, including customer specifications and vendor documentation.
- Working knowledge of relevant API standards (API 610, 617, 618, 619).
- Experience developing and maintaining calculation tools/templates (e.g., Excel‑based sizing calculators, automation/macros) to standardize sizing of process components and improve productivity and first‑pass yield.
- Exposure to process system design for large equipment packages used in petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, fertilizer, or similar process industries.
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in mandatory skills. Maximum 10 years of overall work experience.
