Global Product Manager – Applied Power Products (Air Starters and Barring Motors)

Job Summary:

Ingersoll Rand’s Power Tools & Lifting Business Unit develops and commercializes a broad portfolio of products for the global market. As Product Manager – Industrial Equipment, you will report to the Director of Product and drive new product research and development efforts focused on Industrial Lifting, Material Handling, Engine Starters, Air Motors, and other Industrial Equipment product categories. At the conclusion of the product development process, the Product Manager will collaborate with Commercial and Marketing teams to build customer awareness and support sales enablement.

 

This hybrid role offers a mix of remote (work from home), in-office (Bengaluru, India), and in-field workdays. In the field, the Product Manager will conduct research with end users to gain an understanding of their needs and represent the Voice of the Customer for internal project stakeholders. In our Bengaluru, work with a world class team of Engineers to guide product design and build relationships with Commercial, Supply Chain, and Product Marketing stakeholders.


Key measures of success for the Product Manager will include category sales performance; new product vitality; new product quality, speed-to-market, and profitability; quality of research reporting (user, market, and competitive analysis); and ability to execute the strategic initiatives of the Business Unit leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and cultivate distributor & end-user relationships for product research and field testing
  • Summarize and communicate Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback to project stakeholders
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to gauge commercial opportunity for new products
  • Work with Sales team and Distributors in field to identify product opportunities and provide training
  • Optimize product value proposition and assist in development of product marketing collateral
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Brand leaders to implement and support promotional activities
  • Assess performance and manage product lifecycle for current SKU portfolio
  • Secure commitment from Commercial leads on new product forecasts and coordinate supply chain
  • Execute in a timely manner all tactical business needs related to product, P&L maintenance
  • Take on additional assignments as needed for the business and personal developmental needs

 

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree, preferably in Business or Engineering
  • 10+ year work experience in industrial product sales/marketing or product management
  • Experience with customized / configured-to-order products
  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time, including multi-day overnight travel

  • Effective project management, organizational, and analytical skills

  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.
