Job & Division Summary: 

This position will be responsible to plan, track and manage software releases for our Precision Tools products. This position will be part of the software engineering team and will be responsible to refine the processes of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and to ensure process compliance. Ingersoll Rand views our engineering efforts not only as a driving force of our growth strategy, but also as a fundamental way we deliver on our commitment to our customers to Make Life Better. 

Responsibilities

  • 50% Plan, track and manage software releases for multiple NPD and LCE projects
  • 20% Refine SDLC processes aligned with IR Excellence (IRX), IR Cybersecurity and Business needs
  • 30% Drive strategic initiatives across projects, track and report progress to multiple stakeholders including senior leadership

Mandatory Skills

  • Knowledge of software development for embedded or Linux systems
  • Deep knowledge of waterfall and agile scrum software development methodologies
  • Exposure to software security and privacy assessment processes on one more project
  • Expert-level knowledge of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Expert-level knowledge of at least one requirements management and one defect management tool (eg. Jira, ADO, Bugzilla)
  • Exposure to static code analysis reports from tools like SonarQube, Fortify, etc
  • Strong communication skills with ability to adapt communication for different audiences

 

Desired Skills

    • Exposure to mobile application software development
    • Exposure to Windows application software development
    • Exposure to Cloud software development
    • Knowledge of MS Project

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Must have: (total 10-15 years of experience, not more than 15)
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a software development engineer
    • 5+ years of experience as a project lead, project manager or program manager
    • 2+ years of experience with creating reports for senior management on program status, metrics and risks
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience as a software development manager
    • Certification as PMP or Scrum Master
