Job & Division Summary:
We are looking for a experienced Senior engineering professional to join our dynamic engineering team in Ingersoll Rand Engineering and Technology Centre, Bangalore. This role involves leading and executing high-complexity design engineering projects, particularly in the development of air compressors and related products.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis and development of high-complexity projects for compressed air products used in transport applications.
- Lead engineering responsibilities of localising air compressors used in Industrial or related products.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the regions to ensure alignment with manufacturing, quality and other departments.
- Apply advanced mechanical design principles and perform design calculations to optimize product performance and to ensure high-quality design outputs.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant global standards and regulations.
- Lead design reviews, DFMEA sessions and participate in PFMEA and other quality assurance activities.
- Utilize PLM systems for managing design data and ensure accurate documentation.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers.
Mandatory Skills
- 3+ years’ of Hands-on experience of leading New Product Development (NPD) or major VAVE projects of Industrial or related products.
- 3+ years’ experience in development of Package, Sub-systems and Components used in medium to large assemblies.
- 3 to 5 years’ hands-on experience in CAD tools such as Inventor or Creo and proficiency in PLM systems like Windchill or SAP.
- Handson experience of leading or executing major localisation projects.
Desired skills:
- In-depth knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards and their application in real-world scenarios.
- Experience in the Industrial or related products with a focus on air compressors or equivalent products.
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement design improvements.
- Familiarity with FEA tools and interpretation of analysis results to ensure robust designs.
- Handson experience of DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, Problem solving skills and Design Gate processes.
- Excellent communication and project management skills with the ability to manage and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT).
Basic Qualifications
- B. Tech/ M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
- Overall, 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent communication skills and project management skills.
