Within our Bradford facility we design, machine, assembly and install our entire Bulk Powder and Liquid Compressor range for Road Transport Vehicles. Providing our customers with the whole product life cycle is number one for us and with our mobile service engineers we offer from concept design, manufacture, installation and aftermarket support.

 


Job Purpose

To set up and operate CNC laser cutting and press brake machinery to manufacture components in line with production requirements, engineering drawings, quality standards, and customer specifications. The role also involves general fabrication activities and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing department.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Set, operate, and monitor CNC laser cutting machines.
  • Program, adjust, and optimise machine settings to ensure efficient production.
  • Set and operate CNC press brakes to produce components to specification.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Perform routine quality checks using measuring equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Select appropriate tooling and machine parameters for various materials and thicknesses.
  • Carry out basic machine maintenance and daily operational checks.
  • Deburr, finish, and inspect fabricated components as required.
  • Assist with fabrication, assembly, and welding preparation activities where necessary.
  • Minimise scrap and rework through adherence to quality procedures.
  • Report production issues, equipment faults, and quality concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Work closely with engineering, planning, and production teams to achieve manufacturing targets.

 

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience setting and operating CNC laser cutting machinery.
  • Proven experience setting and operating CNC press brake machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience within a sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment, including verniers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures.
  • Understanding of manufacturing tolerances and quality standards.
  • Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship or engineering/manufacturing qualification.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software.
  • Experience programming laser cutting or press brake machinery.
  • FLT (Forklift Truck) licence.
  • Overhead crane experience.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
