Sr. Product Engineer

Justification: This requisition is for a new Product Engineer Position.  This position will be responsible for executing critical business initiatives pertaining to existing products.  Additionally, product engineer support all Vehicle Repair power tools as well as many industrial power tools, construction tools and engine starter that use the same product architecture such as impact wrenches，cordless tools etc. Responsibilities will include LCE, i2V, Quality and localization projects.

Job Summary: This Product Engineering position is within our Power Tools Strategic Business Unit which is based in Changzhou plant.  We design, engineer and manufacturer professional vehicle repair and industrial air and cordless power tools etc. .  This person for this position must work closely with cross-functional teams including quality, sourcing and operations.  This engineer will be responsible to provide engineering support for products which are made in Changzhou plant in production life cycle.   He/she must be a team player and easily interact with others in and outside the company.  This engineer must have the ability to multi-task, communicate clearly, and work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.  

Responsibilities:  

• Drive completion of assigned engineering tasks for parts, subsystems and complete products that meet global standards and the intended market specifications.
• Support NPD(set up NPD BOM, check drawing, make solution for quality issue etc)
• Leading engineering activities and working together with cross functions for localization projects.
• Follow up and make solutions for prototype and engineering building.
• Keep communication between factory and engineering center for technology issue solution.
• Root cause analysis for the quality issue of existing products and make correct actions.
• Decision for unqualified report for parts and tools.
• Implement and follow up ECN in plant
• Lead i2V events and conduct i2V projects
• Drive completion of existing product testing through Ingersoll Rand laboratory protocols. Work cooperatively to execute test plans with lab technicians.
• Report progress of assigned projects and maintain recoverable records.
• Relentless effort to resolve all warranty and field problems expeditiously. Manage activities through Ingersoll Rand quality systems.
• Provide support to manufacturing, marketing, customer service, procurement and quality assurance departments on current and potential future products derivatives.
• Travel to customer sites to gain insight into customer applications, audit suppliers, and to provide technical support for sales and service.

Qualifications: 

• At least 3 years working experience or above in mechanical industrial area design and sustaining, experience in tools will be high preferred
• 4 years Degree Mechanical Engineer (ME)

• Strong project management skills including demonstrated expertise in organizing tasks and managing time to complete simultaneous multiple assignments.
• Demonstrated leadership in taking initiative for root cause analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to make timely solutions, applying creativity and sound judgment.
• Experience using 3-D modeling and drafting with Creo is preferred. 
• In depth understanding of product function fundamentals at both component and system levels.
• In depth knowledge of tolerance stack-ups, part inspection procedures, and regulation standards.
• In depth understanding of manufacturing processes preferred including knowledge of machining processes, assembly processes, material treatments and near net shape processes (such as casting, molding, forging, stamping and forming).
• Experience working within a manufacturing facility or production location is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to direct the work of others including suppliers, designers and lab technicians.
• Prior experience as a mechanic either as a hobby or profession is strongly preferred.
• Clear English communication skills.

Prior experience in power tools is strongly preferred
