Postion Summary

Ingersoll Rand Global Engineering IT team is seeking a PLM System Administrator to support sustenance and maintenance support of the Windchill PLM system across Ingersoll Rand. This role involves ensuring system's reliability and performance, configuring and customizing the PLM environment to meet business requirements, and providing user support and training.  The candidate work collaboratively with fellow System Administrators located in India & USA. 


Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration, and support of Windchill environments
  • Re-hosting (Cloning) Windchill environments. 
  • Supports daily operations including monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, capacity management, provisioning, hardware and software configuration, patching, upgrades and performance monitoring/tuning Administers multiple systems including regular after-hour & weekend supports and 24x7x365 in a 99.999% uptime environment.
  • Manage lifecycles, workflows, queues, security, roles, templates, etc. within the Windchill environment.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves system problems, incidents/requests, ensure SLA adherence 
  • Works proactively to identify root cause and recommends/ implements preventative solutions. 
  • Adheres to global IT standards, policies and procedures and coordinate related activities with global IT teams.
  • Work with vendor to troubleshoot issues and implement patches when necessary.
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.  Master in Computer Applications preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in administrating Windchill PLM systems. 
  • Proven experience in PTC Windchill administration, cluster configuration, rehosting, and analyzing performance issues.
  • Proficient working in Linux environment, Linux commands and shell scripting.
  • Configuring Windchill –CAD integrations with Creo/Inventor/Solidworks and troubleshooting. 
  • Understanding of Oracle Database and experience in Oracle/SQL scripting. 
  • Ability to configure and support replica servers and Windchill application in a cluster environment with SSO/MFA.
     

Preferred Skills & Knowledge:

  • Recent PLM administration responsibilities in a global design and manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Windchill License management and Windchill user/license auditing. 
  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools like PSM, SIEM tools like Splunk will be an added advantage.
