Job Overview:

Ingersoll Rand, a company with ~$7B in annual revenue and 21,000 employees world-wide, is seeking a Director, Global Compensation who will own and effectively manage IR’s global base pay programs; global job architecture; and, the ongoing development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s global compensation practices to ensure they reinforce the company’s pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and strategy. This position reports directly to the VP, Compensation, Benefits, M&A and HRIS, and collaborates closely with the Director, Executive Compensation, HR Business Partners, T&OC leader, Regional Payroll leaders, HRIS, Finance, Internal Audit, and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and effectively manage the ongoing development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s global compensation processes.

  • Develop and implement compensation communication strategies to educate employees and managers.

  • Lead the execution and continuous improvement of the annual base pay administration process, including in-depth training, effective communication, and strict timeline adherence on a global scale.

 

  • In collaboration with T&OC and HR leaders, oversee the ongoing development and improvement of the global career / job architecture and market pricing of all jobs within the structure.

  • Development and management of Ingersoll Rand’s global salary structures, ensuring alignment with the company’s organizational goals and Compensation philosophy.

  • Serve as an approver for Compensation related tasks in Success Factors, and partner with HRIS on periodic changes and improvements in the functional configuration of the Success Factors Compensation module.

  • Liaise with HR Leadership to understand obstacles to success and provide support to address Business needs.

  • Own, develop, and continuously improve Compensation tools used by HR, and develop and deploy learning programs for HR to enable maximum effectiveness of IR’s Compensation philosophy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, required.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience including design and administration of global compensation practices.
  • 3+ years leading a global team of compensation professionals.
  • Strong understanding of the complexities of global and sales compensation practices and compliance.
  • Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to US compensation standards and principals as well as general understanding of regulations outside of the US.
  • Experience managing and administering a global job architecture and advanced market pricing techniques.
  • Expert proficiency in MS Excel
  • Strong organization, project management, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with SOX documentation and compliance processes.

  • Prior experience with M&A integrations
