We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist with our Commercial Industrial Technologies & Services, Americas Sales and Services Team.  The role will be on a hybrid schedule, based out of either our Chicago, Charlotte, or Boston area Customer Centers and will provide the opportunity to work closely with our Human Resources Business Partner team to support salary and hourly employees and execute HR initiatives.   The ideal candidate is a high-energy, self-motivated individual who enjoys variety, creativity, autonomy and high levels of interaction with people. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Employee Relations
    • Works closely with leadership and employees to improve work relationships, build positive engagement, and increase productivity and retention;
    • Acts as employee advocate through effective employee relations;
    • Creates positive change through coaching, counseling, and influencing skills;
    • Monitors employee climate to identify issues/trends/opportunities, proposing solutions/changes, where needed;  
    • Drives and enables cultural transformation to support an employee ownership mentality;
    • Counsels management and employees regarding policies and procedures; 
    • Provides guidance and participation in performance improvement processes as well as employee issues, concerns or complaints. 
  • Recruitment:  Recruits and manages onboarding process including advertising, screening, interviewing, pre-employment testing, new hire paperwork, orientation, HRIS entry.
  • HRIS: Maintains Success Factors Human Resources Information System employee database and files.
  • Communication/Training:  Deploys HR plans, processes, programs and policies aligned with business objectives, including organizational design, succession planning, talent management/acquisition, goal alignment/performance management, employee engagement and communications
  • Partnership:  Collaborates with local HR business partners to share best practices, critical needs issues, and local site and sector initiatives.
  • Benefits:  Assists employees with benefits issues, annual open enrollment process, wellness on-site annual screenings
  • Safety
    • Ensures EHS compliance requirements are met, including submission of Worker’s Comp claims
    • Assists in the identification of safety training needs and ensuring response programs are in place.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • SHRM-CP or SCP is a plus
  • 2 years of experience in Human Resource, or comparable, discipline
  • SAP Success Factors experience preferred
  • Sound judgment and problem solving ability with strong relationship building skills.
  • Self-motivated and reliable, with the ability to work independently to prioritize and pivot to meet the changing needs of the organization and collaborate effectively within HR and business teams. 
  • Expertise in employee relations
