Job Summary
The Sr Manager, SAP FICO is a leadership role responsible for managing a globally distributed team of SAP FICO functional analysts and architects across all regions (Americas, LAC, EMEA, and APAC). This is a deliberately hands-on management role directly engaged in the SAP system: architecting solutions, performing configuration, and providing expert-level guidance on complex FICO scenarios. The Manager will own the SAP FICO global template, ensure its integrity and adoption across regions, lead solution design for major programs and enhancements, and oversee Application Managed Services (AMS) operations. This individual brings together deep technical SAP FICO expertise with the leadership capability to develop talent, influence stakeholders, and drive finance transformation at scale. This role reports to the Director, Global SAP COE.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a globally distributed SAP FICO team across Americas, LAC, EMEA, and APAC — setting performance goals, coaching talent, and driving a high-performance culture.
- Own and govern the SAP FICO global template — ensuring design integrity, regional consistency, and controlled localization across all deployments.
- Personally perform hands-on SAP FICO configuration (50% of role) across GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cost Center/Profit Center Accounting, Product Costing, COPA, and Banking.
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for FICO initiatives — from requirements and fit-gap analysis through design, configuration, testing, and go-live.
- Oversee AMS operations for the global SAP FICO landscape — managing SLAs, incident/problem/change processes, and continuous service improvement.
- Drive FICO workstream delivery on major SAP programs — rollouts, upgrades, and transformation projects — in close partnership with PMO and business stakeholders.
- Architect and review FRICE objects (Forms, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements) in collaboration with technical development teams.
- Collaborate with the corporate applications team to ensure seamless third‑party integrations between SAP FICO and systems such as Blackline, Concur, Basware, and GetPaid.
- Define and drive the SAP FICO roadmap — evaluating S/4HANA capabilities, identifying simplification opportunities, and leading continuous improvement across the finance systems landscape.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of SAP S/4 FICO functional experience, with at least 3–4 years in a people management or team lead capacity.
- Proven track record managing globally distributed SAP FICO teams across multiple time zones and cultures.
- Deep, hands-on configuration expertise across the full SAP FICO suite: GL/New GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing (CO-PC), COPA, Banking/Treasury.
- Minimum 3 full end-to-end SAP implementation life cycles with multinational companies, including global template design and multi-country rollout experience.
- Demonstrated ability to personally configure SAP FICO in complex enterprise environments — not solely a functional lead who delegates configuration.
- Strong experience with AMS operations, including SLA management, incident/change/problem management, and continuous service improvement.
- Experience with SAP FICO integration to MM, SD, PP, and PM modules. SAP certification preferred.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with proven ability to engage executive-level Finance leadership.
- Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal); ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. MBA preferred.
- Strong interest in applying AI (CoPilot, Claude, Cortex) to solve ERP Finance and Controlling problems, driving measurable cost avoidance and revenue generation.
