Job Overview:

The Vice President of Product Management is a key member of the CSS North America leadership team and serves as the strategic owner of the product portfolio. This role is responsible for defining product strategy, shaping the long‑term roadmap, setting pricing and packaging, ensuring quality, and managing the full product lifecycle from ideation through retirement.

Working cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Customer Support, and Operations, the VP ensures that products meet customer needs, are competitive in the marketplace, and are launched on time with high quality. This leader must balance customer value, business value, market dynamics, and operational capabilities to drive profitable growth.

CSS North America is transforming how customers experience our solutions across a multi‑product portfolio. We’re seeking a Vice President of Product Management to own the portfolio strategy, shape a multi‑year roadmap, and lead cross‑functional execution that delivers measurable customer and business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Set strategy & roadmap: Define a multi‑year product vision and portfolio roadmap grounded in deep market, customer, and competitive insight; align priorities with growth, profitability, and quality goals.
  • Own the lifecycle end‑to‑end: Lead products from concept to launch, growth, maturity, and retirement—including pricing, packaging, and go‑to‑market—with accountability for revenue, margin, and adoption.
  • Lead across the matrix: Partner daily with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, and Operations to unblock delivery, optimize trade‑offs, and accelerate time‑to‑value.
  • Champion the customer: Establish mechanisms for continuous insight (win/loss, VOC, usage analytics) and translate findings into clear product choices and messaging.
  • Raise the bar on execution & quality: Drive a predictable operating rhythm (KPIs), risk management, and excellence in reliability, security, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build a high‑performing team: Recruit, mentor, and scale a multi‑disciplinary product organization with clear standards and growth paths.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years progressive product management/product strategy experience, including 7–10+ years leading leaders in complex portfolios (B2B software/industrial/connected solutions strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated success shipping and scaling products with full lifecycle ownership—pricing/packaging, commercialization, and portfolio P&L impact.
  • Proven effectiveness operating in matrixed, global environments and influencing across Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Customer‑ and data‑obsessed, with strong analytical decision making; comfortable setting outcome metrics (revenue, adoption, NPS, gross margin, time‑to‑market) and reviewing them in executive forums.

Core Competencies:

  • Establish clear operating mechanisms (portfolio reviews, quarterly business reviews, roadmap governance) and transparent trade‑off decisioning.
  • Embed market‑backed practices (e.g., win/loss, segmentation, positioning) to tighten strategy‑to‑execution linkage across GTM and R&D.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

  • This position will be based at our corporate offices in Davidson, NC, with periodic travel to customer sites, operations, and R&D locations as needed to support roadmap and launches.
