Position Summary

This is an internship with our innovative Air Dimensions team in Deerfield Beach, FL.  You will have hands on learning and development with our engineering team working closely with engineering manager. Key opportunities include leaning to in design, build and test pumps and compressors. Work on build of materials (BOMs). Make mechanical designs and drawings, perform calculations, work with  vendors, assist in creating prototypes, work to certify pumps, and collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, sales, product management and purchasing team.  Uses engineering software to aid in the design and re-design of products. 

Essential Functions

  • Mechanical designs and drawings: creates and modifies existing pumps and compressors designs and drawings based on issues raised by engineering manager based on input from customers, vendors or internal team, as well as cost-saving opportunities.
  • Calculations:  performs calculations tied to first part of design or re-design project
  • Vendor work: works with key vendors (i.e. motor makers) in selecting and configuring motors to meet product needs.  Additional work with vendors as needed to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Customer Design:  Develops project timelines and product cost comparisons, selects materials, commercial parts and technical data.
  • Design:  Designs components for pumps and compressors based on instructions provided by engineering manager
  • Work with agency used in certification of productions(ie UL, TUV, ATEX)
  • Testing: Builds and tests prototypes. Follows up appropriately in correcting.  Works with QA and outside agencies to insure quality and ISO standards are met.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or required.

 

Qualifications

  • Enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university .
  • Majoring in manufacturing, mechanical, or electrical engineering and at least 2 years in the program. 
  • Be available to work full time (40 hours per week) during summer of 2022.
  • Experience in Solidworks or similar software preferred.
  • Use of 3D software to design, evaluate and archive product documentation

  • Partner with other engineers and other staff to work out project plans
