Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic Applications Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be the technical liaison between our customers and our internal teams. You will use your deep knowledge of pump technologies and engineering principles to evaluate customer requirements and design and recommend pump solutions that meet customer requirements and support sales efforts. This role involves close collaboration with the sales, customer service, engineering, and operations departments to ensure optimal application of our products.

 

Responsibilities

  • Analyse customer technical requirements and specifications to propose suitable solutions.
  • Provide technical support and product recommendations and training to internal teams and customers.
  • Prepare detailed technical proposals, quotes, and cost analyses for custom and standard applications.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including manuals, product data sheets, and application notes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all solutions provided.
  • Support production with engineering guidance as needed for custom orders.
  • Troubleshoot application problems and provide technical support to customers.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and other industry events.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional project teams.
  • Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to enhance existing products and develop new solutions based on market needs.

 

Basic Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Relevant experience in applications engineering or similar technical support role, preferably in the pump manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in CAD software or similar engineering design tools.
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with pump performance testing and analysis is desirable.
  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems (e.g. SAP, Salesforce) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of positive displacement and centrifugal pumps and their applications is desirable.
  • Familiarity with pump industry standards and regulations (ISO, ANSI, UL, CE, ATEX, UKCA, ABS, etc.) is desirable.
  • Bilingual / multilingual in English and one of the following: German, French, Italian or Spanish is desirable.

 

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to support sales efforts and customer visits.
