Position Summary

The Air Treatment Design & Test Engineer is responsible for providing technical application support, conducting air quality testing, validating system performance, and supporting product integration for customers in Japan. This role bridges engineering, sales, and service by delivering technical expertise, performing system analyses, and ensuring that air treatment solutions—such as filters, dryers, purification systems, and monitoring devices—meet application requirements and compliance standards.


 

Key Responsibilities

A. Application Engineering & Technical Support

  • Provide technical recommendations for air treatment solutions based on customer applications, system requirements, and environmental conditions.
  • Support the sales team during pre‑sales discussions, including system sizing, performance simulations, and product selection.
  • Prepare technical proposals, application notes, and engineering documentation.
  • Conduct on-site assessments, system audits, and airflow/contamination diagnostics to identify customer needs.

B. Testing, Measurement & Compliance

  • Perform air quality testing, including dew point, particle concentration, oil vapor/oil aerosol, pressure drop, and system performance measurements.
  • Ensure tests meet relevant standards (ISO 8573, JIS, GMP, HACCP, or customer-specific criteria).
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate testing instruments and monitoring devices.
  • Analyze test results, prepare professional reports, and provide corrective action recommendations.

C. Product Validation & Troubleshooting

  • Conduct troubleshooting on filtration systems, dryers, and purification equipment to identify root causes of performance issues.
  • Support internal teams with failure analysis, product improvement feedback, and technical insights.
  • Participate in product evaluations, field trials, and performance benchmarking.

D. Customer Training & Technical Presentations

  • Deliver training sessions to customers, distributors, and internal teams on system design, operation, testing methodology, and maintenance best practices.
  • Present complex technical information in a clear, customer-friendly manner.

E. Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work closely with sales, service, engineering, and global product teams to support customer requirements and product initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate logs of test data, system evaluations, field observations, and customer interactions.
  • Support development and localization of technical manuals and documentation.

F. Safety & Quality Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols during field testing and equipment handling.
  • Ensure testing accuracy, documentation quality, and traceability meet internal and external standards.

 

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in application engineering, testing, or technical support in industrial equipment, air treatment, compressed air systems, filtration, or HVAC.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for mechanical and fluid systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, test data, and technical specifications.
  • Native-level Japanese; business-level English for documentation and technical discussions.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites across Japan.
