Position Objective:
The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for the Quality Management System (QMS) and supporting processes. The ultimate goal is to ensure that the entire Aerospace & Defense Solutions business is compliant with required accreditations and certifications, that we conform to internal and external standards, and continually improve our processes and systems.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages the total quality system for our Aerospace & Defense Solutions businesses
- Ensures adherence to and compliance with established company quality policies, practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), government regulations and customer quality requirements
- Oversees Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with company objectives and requirements, customer requirements and third-party requirements
- Provides leadership and metrics to drive supporting processes such as internal audit, nonconformance/CAPA, risk management, etc.
- Responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with corporate quality initiatives at the plant level by working with plant management and directing quality improvement programs
- Facilitates audits by regulatory agencies and other internal/external third parties
- May be responsible for on-site training
- Participates on cross-functional teams and interfaces with external partners as required
- May lead direct reports involving hiring, firing and performance management

Minimum Requirements:
Education: |
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field of study
|
Experience: |
5+ years of experience within a quality or manufacturing environment Experience within a large multinational manufacturing organization Experience administering ISO 9001, NIOSH and AS9100, ISO 13485, CE and ISO22000 advantages
|
Skills/Competencies: |
Understanding and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts related to Total Quality Management Systems and manufacturing operations Solutions-oriented thinking for difficult, technical situations Self-directed and proficient with time and project management Demonstrated ability to lead either through authority or influence

Other Skills: |
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent presentation skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel Ability to adapt/ adjust to new technologies and methods Six Sigma and/or Lean experience preferred |
