Job Overview:

This position will be responsible for designing, customizing, and delivering ETO (Engineered to Order) solutions tailored to customer specifications for the Ergonomic Material Handling products within the North American Power Tools and Lifting organization. This role collaborates closely with sales, manufacturing, and project management teams to ensure technical accuracy, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of solutions.  This involves understanding the product requirements from the sales team and customers, preparing conceptual design, resolving technical challenges, lead design review and support technical / commercial proposals to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer requirements and develop technical solutions aligned with ETO standards.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for custom products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) to ensure feasibility and compliance.
  • Provide technical support during proposal development and project execution.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize ETO processes and reduce lead times.
  • Maintain accurate records of designs, revisions, and approvals in the engineering database.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years in ETO (Engineered to Order) or custom product engineering environment.
    • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP systems.
  • Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.

 

Core Competencies:

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of engineering principles, CAD software, and industry standards.  Design codes (ASME, IEC and EN standards)
  • CREO Parametric – solid modeling, sheet metal and drafting.  3D modeling with CAD software, CREO (preferable), CATIA, SolidWorks/UG
  • Proficient in GD&T, DRMEA, DOE/Stack up analysis
  • In-depth knowledge manufacturing processes (machining, plastic, casting, sheet metal)
  • Sound knowledge in selection of PLC/HMI/SCADA/IPC as per application requirements
  • Proficient in hand calculations to verify design
  • Windchill PLM
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve complex issues creatively and effectively.
  • Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects with strong organizational skills.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability and Innovation: Flexibility to adapt to changes, openness to new ideas, and drive for continuous improvement.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements 

  • This position will be based in Sahibabad India with minimal anticipated travel.
