Job Summary
We are looking for a technically proficient and detail-driven Senior 3D modeling Engineer to support the design and development of rotary compressors and related mechanical systems within the oil and gas industry. This role involves creating precise 3D models of rotating equipment, assemblies, and components used in high-pressure, high-performance environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and industrial standards relevant to oil & gas applications and will coordinate activities alongside external engineering company as well.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop 3D models of rotary compressors skid with focus on design of auxiliary systems, baseplate, tank, vessel etc. to meet the project requirements
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure models meet performance, safety, and manufacturing requirements
- Prepare detailed assemblies and exploded views for technical documentation and fabrication
- Integrate models into simulation workflows (CFD, FEA) and support design validation as needed
- Support specific Customer meeting relating to the 3D model review (30%, 60%, 90%), HFE meetings, review meetings.
- Optimize models for manufacturability and serviceability, considering tolerances and material constraints
- Maintain version control and ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ASME, ISO)
Key Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
- Proven experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or Siemens NX (3-5 yrs experience)
- Strong understanding of rotary compressor mechanics and thermodynamic principles
- Familiarity with oil & gas equipment standards and operational environments or similar
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) is a plus
- Ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering specifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
