Position Summary

The Air Treatment Senior Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air treatment equipment—including compressed air dryers, filtration systems, purification units, and monitoring/testing devices—at customer sites across Japan. This role acts as the lead service engineer, responsible not only for performing advanced service work but also for managing service schedules (internal and external vendors), coordinating dryer maintenance planning, and ensuring efficient resource allocation. The engineer ensures equipment reliability, optimal performance, and high customer satisfaction while supporting the broader sales and service organization.


Key Responsibilities

A. Installation & Commissioning

  • Install and commission air treatment systems (filters, dryers, purification units) according to manufacturer procedures and safety standards.
  • Conduct start-up testing, calibration, and system verification.
  • Provide on-site training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.

B. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including filter replacements, system cleaning, leak checks, and performance inspections.
  • Diagnose system issues and perform corrective repairs with minimal downtime.
  • Document all maintenance activities and service findings in service reports.

C. Testing & Diagnostics

  • Conduct air quality testing (e.g., particle counts, oil content, dew point, ISO/JIS compliance checks).
  • Operate and maintain test instruments and data loggers.
  • Provide accurate test results and technical recommendations to customers and internal teams.

D. Technical Support & Customer Service

  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide on-site/remote troubleshooting guidance.
  • Work closely with sales teams to support technical evaluations, equipment audits, and upgrade proposals.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service standards.

E. Service Planning, Scheduling & Vendor Management (NEW / ENHANCED SECTION)

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all service activities, including preventive maintenance and urgent repairs for air treatment equipment, with a strong focus on compressed air dryers.
  • Own and manage dryer service schedules, ensuring timely maintenance, inspections, and compliance with customer contracts and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate and supervise third-party service vendors, including selection, work assignment, performance monitoring, and quality control.
  • Ensure that vendor work meets company standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Optimize scheduling to improve response time, customer satisfaction, and resource utilization.
  • Act as the main point of contact between customers, internal teams, and service vendors for all scheduling-related activities.

F. Parts, Tools & Documentation Management

  • Ensure proper handling of spare parts, tools, and service inventory.
  • Maintain accurate service records, test results, field reports, and CRM updates.
  • Follow all safety, compliance, and quality protocols.

G. Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Provide feedback to engineering and product management regarding product performance, failure trends, and customer needs.
  • Participate in training programs to stay updated on new technologies, tools, and procedures.
  • Support internal projects, field trials, and product demonstrations as needed.

Qualifications Required

  • Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering fields.
  • 3–5+ years of service experience preferred (including experience coordinating field service or vendors).
  • Experience with industrial equipment, compressed air, HVAC, filtration, or similar fields.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, and electrical diagnostic skills.
  • Native-level Japanese; basic English preferred for manuals, training, and internal communication.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently within Japan.
