Position Summary: Optimizes the administration of materials and finished products, by coordinating the involved activities including material supply, inventory control, traffic and customs. Responsible for managing sourcing with multiple commodities, its procurement activities on strategic and tactical level.
Essential Functions:
Procurement
Analyze and identify supplier trends to determine corrective action plans, which may result in looking for a new vendor. Monitor purchase price variances and resolve any issues with the vendor.
Negotiate Long-term agreements & payment terms with preferred suppliers in accordance with the defined commodity strategy
Lead Request for Proposal (RFP) process with all stakeholders and lead RFQ Process with candidate suppliers. Compare the offers commercially and consider other mentioned factors.
Perform supplier visits, join quality audits.
Drive continuous improvement within the supplier base in terms of cost, quality, delivery, service, flexibility and working capital
Work with the ERP System for relevant procurement data, includes reading & analysing as well as creating new entries (for contracts, supplier relevant data, sample orders).
Building and maintaining professional/good relationships with suppliers.
Inventory Control
Plans and requisitions component parts to achieve the Master Schedule and service requirements.
Coordinates with any other facilities to forecast any remanufactured product requirements.
Requisitions all purchases/inter-factory orders as well as expediting based on weekly MRP output.
Evaluates and controls MRP parameters including order policies, multiple order quantities, scrap factors, safety stock, minimums and maximums.
Production Planning
Measures adherence to all planned schedules. Resolves any critical issues.
Coordinates, evaluates and implements engineering changes and establishes appropriate effective dates.
Analyzes the final assembly schedules to determine parts availability and resolves conflicts to those schedules.
Analyzes potential parts short falls and adjusts production schedules accordingly
Traffic
Coordinates shipping efforts, insuring the plant(s) meets necessary production outputs on time.
New Products
Develops and monitors compliance with requirements related to the introduction of new products.
Policies/Processes
Develops order policies to maximize customer service and minimize inventory investments
Management
Develops and maintains a competent work force through recruitment, training, coaching and establishing goals and objectives.
Other responsibilities as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
Several years of subject-specific professional and management experience (at least 5 years of professional experience)
Completed studies in industrial engineering or similar
Self-confidence and communicative skills
High degree of commitment, flexibility and resilience
Enjoying teamwork and working autonomously.
Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems
Good knowledge of English. Fluency in German is a Must.
