Buyer

We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for managing the supply chain replenishment strategy and project implementation for critical components and suppliers. This person will be held accountable for PPV/Inventory metrics, supplier quality and process improvements. The best candidate will have knowledge in PCB and electronic components, along with the ability to executes corporate-wide objectives with accuracy and troubleshoots problems effectively.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
o Analyze and implement innovative supply opportunities that deliver the best competitive advantage for cost and quality working both independently and with the Milton Roy Global Sourcing team
o Achieve operating performance targets and improvements including driving annual cost reductions (PPV), supplier scorecards and commodity metrics
o Drive contract terms that support strategy implementation and reduce inventory
o Advance supply chain techniques such as Kanban agreements, VMI, and Consignment
o Work effectively in cross-functional environment between manufacturing operations, engineering, quality, marketing, and sales
o Maintain a procurement process that meets all corporate regulated standards
o Focus on quality in all aspects of the business and drives issues to root cause
o Place purchase orders in JDE
o Understand MRP and execute action messages promptly
o Visit and meet with suppliers, quarterly

 

Minimum Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related business curriculum
o 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience required
o Purchasing or Material Certifications and/or membership, a plus
o Six Sigma or Lean Certifications, a plus
o Experience working for an assembly and/or test manufacturer of Industrial products
o Proven track record of hitting cost reduction targets and project implementation
o Excellent negotiation capabilities and ability to interact well with suppliers
o Statistical/Analytical background and strong skills in database creation, spreadsheets, etc.
o Analytical problem solver and data-driven decision-making abilities
o Ability to work in a fast paced, task-focused environment
o Working knowledge of MRP/ERP, JIT, Kanban
o Ability to work seamlessly across functions and regions
