Manufacturing Engineer

 

This role is responsible for the execution and optimization of manufacturing processes for the production line, suppliers, customers, and partners. The main initiative of this role is to re-engineer processes and methods targeted at achieving company objectives in areas that include cost, efficiency, and quality. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and innovator who possess the ability to interface effectively with all levels of personnel. In addition, this individual will have a passion for reducing costs associated with productivity and have a strong understanding of effective methodologies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate manufacturing processes for Ivyland factory
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow
  • Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Confer with the planning and design team to develop effective product designs and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
  • Discuss manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes with management, engineering, and other staff
  • Display vigilance surrounding quality, ergonomics, and safety across multiple light industrial production lines
  • Act as the first responder to manufacturing issues by engaging the appropriate stakeholders to take action, perform root cause analysis, and develop plans to prevent future occurrences
  • Collect and communicate issues and plans for resolution with suppliers, production teams, site management, and customers effectively
  • Lead and support continuous improvement efforts to drive lean six sigma principles and techniques throughout the business

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent
  • 5 plus years experience as a manufacturing or industrial engineer in a Lean manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of addressing any manufacturing issues of electro-mechanical assemblies and products
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, VSM, Kaizen, 5s, etc.
  • Experience with Solid Works and AutoCAD
  • Past experience launching new products into production
  • Strong leadership and collaborative abilities
  • Familiarity with fixture and test equipment designs and construction
  • Strong and professional communication skills
