Job Summary

The Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) – Sales will undergo structured training to develop technical and commercial competencies required for a successful career in industrial sales. The role involves learning product applications, understanding customer requirements, supporting sales activities, and contributing to business growth through customer engagement and market development initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Sales Support & Customer Engagement

  • Assist the sales team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Visit customers along with senior sales professionals to understand market requirements and customer expectations.
  • Support preparation of quotations, proposals, and tender documents.
  • Follow up on customer inquiries and coordinate with internal teams for timely responses.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.

Technical & Product Knowledge

  • Gain in-depth understanding of company products, applications, and solutions.
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations under supervision.
  • Provide basic technical support and application guidance to customers.

Market Development

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis.
  • Identify emerging market trends and business opportunities.
  • Generate leads through customer visits, networking, and industry events.

Sales Operations

  • Update customer interactions and opportunities in CRM systems.
  • Prepare sales reports, visit reports, and market intelligence updates.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless customer support.

Training & Development

  • Participate actively in technical and sales training programs.
  • Develop knowledge of sales processes, negotiation techniques, and account management practices.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and learning assignments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of experience.

Experience

  • 0-1 year of experience in sales, marketing, customer support, or engineering roles.
  • Internship experience in industrial sales or manufacturing organizations will be an added advantage.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and industrial products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Familiarity with CRM tools is preferred.
