Job Summary

The Inventory & Material Planner is responsible for material planning and the procurement of resources required to support the production plan and achieve customer service objectives.

The role manages an assigned supplier portfolio, monitoring material requirements, purchase orders, order confirmations, and deliveries to ensure material availability while maintaining inventory levels aligned with operational needs and company targets.

The position requires close collaboration with Production Planning, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Procurement, and suppliers to ensure supply chain continuity and support production priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage material requirements generated by MRP, ensuring alignment with production plans.
  • Create and monitor purchase orders, ensuring timely execution and supplier follow-up.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned suppliers, ensuring effective communication and delivery performance.
  • Monitor order confirmations and delivery schedules, proactively addressing shortages, delays, or supply issues.
  • Ensure material availability while maintaining optimal inventory levels and coverage.

Identify and mitigate risks related to stock-outs, excess inventory, and obsolescence.

  • Support the improvement of supplier service levels and logistics performance.
  • Collaborate with Production Planning, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams to ensure supply continuity.
  • Participate in supplier and material review meetings, supporting issue resolution and performance monitoring.
  • Prepare and analyze reports and KPIs related to procurement, inventory, and supplier performance.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Significant experience in similar roles, preferably within Supply Chain, Planning, or Procurement environments.
  • Experience in the operational management of a supplier portfolio.
  • Knowledge of MRP processes and material planning principles.
  • Good understanding of Inventory Management principles.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Business Intelligence tools.
  • Previous experience in metalworking or industrial manufacturing environments is considered a plus.
  • Fluent in Italian.
  • Good written and spoken English skills.

This is a site-based position located in Parma, with access to flexible working arrangements in accordance with company policies

Salary Range

  • € 23.100- €40.940
  • Collective Bargaining Agreement: Italian Metalworkers' National Collective Labor Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanico)
