Job Summary
The Global Product Manager Position exists to grow revenues and margins of a portfolio of products over the long term through the active understanding of the customer’s needs and requirements and adjusting product strategy to meet the same in every region and territory, globally.
This product is primarily focused on the ALBIN HOSE PUMP product ranges globally, but also will have a regional responsibility for the roll out and execution of other Peristaltic pumps.
This includes, but is not limited to, understanding core technical and hydraulic functionality of the product, customer needs and market trends, managing the product line (adding/removing/consolidating new product lines, line extensions, modifications, and partner/vendor decisions) recommending product pricing, and developing marketing strategies and tactics to support the sales staff.
The Global Product Manager will create plans for new products to be added to the portfolio, as well as incremental improvements, and be the advisor on Industry trends both commercially and technically.
Key to the role is the ability to assimilate data, widely different points of view and an ability to communicate and build relationships across the whole organization.
The GPM is responsible for the long term, profitable growth of their product portfolio.
Responsibilities
Product Roadmap:
- Create the Strategic Product Plan for the expansion portfolio including developing and updating the 3 year product roadmap.
- Size, prioritize, and recommend development ideas for future development and make recommendations for product line strategy.
- Track product line sales and profitability. Create end of life and obsolescence policy for the portfolio.
- Identify and implement product cost reductions as necessary to achieve product line income goals.
- Manage global training and product launches for total portfolio and ensure on time delivery to line up with strategic plan.
Program management:
- Actively communicate status of projects to all project stakeholders, which include the cross functional team and senior management…
Market driven approach:
- Analyze core customer and market trends
- Oversight and management of NIS and other channel strategies as necessary to achieve continuous success.
- Complete a needs diagnosis to identify unmet needs and upcoming market trends for each product line/range
- Spend at least 25% of time performing market research (including, but not limited to telephone surveys, field visits, trade conferences, vendor visits).
- Work with Sales department to gather and assess competitive data (marketing campaigns, product positioning, pricing, etc.)
- Perform competitive tracking analysis and market data collection.
Financial:
- Recommend product pricing in conjunction with sales and monitor outcome
- Prepare financial analysis for portfolio evaluation and decision making.
- Participate in forecasting/capacity planning with channel, sales, and supply chain.
Basic Qualifications
- Engineering degree with product management experience and/or marketing degree with strong technical background. Water market experience is preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in successful product management.
- Relevant industry knowledge
- Experience working in Vertical segment / Key Account Development organisation.
- Experience in digital / on line B2B marketing and sales
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
- Occasional trips - Ability and willingness to travel, as needed, in support of the regional business, product portfolio assessment and development and team support.
