POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Vacuum Product Engineer is a key role in the Engineering Department, responsible for driving i2V cost reduction initiatives, supporting product localization projects, delivering design execution based on customer orders, and providing LCE technical support for vacuum pump products—including product improvements and quality issue resolution, thereby contributing to business growth and operational excellence.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead cost reduction projects, focusing on continuously generating actionable ideas to achieve planned savings and support business growth. 
  2. Support the sales quoting process and, upon order confirmation, own the order-specific engineering design (main product structure remains unchanged; minor configuration adjustments only). 
  3. Participate in or lead engineering activities in localization projects through the IRPDP process, working closely with the Project Manager and cross-functional teams to meet MRD requirements and QDC targets, including: 

   a) Product Concept Design 

   b) Engineering Builds 

   c) Design Validation 

   d) Preparation for New Product Launch 

  1. Provide timely technical support and solutions for any quality issues arising in the plant or at customer sites.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. At least 5 years of work experience in LCE, new product development (NPD), or project management within rotary industrial products (e.g., pumps, compressors, etc.). 
  2. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, or a related field (e.g., Vacuum or Compressor Technology). 
  3. Solid theoretical knowledge and extensive hands-on experience in mechanical design and manufacturing, including casting, machining, and assembly processes. 
  4. Proficient in 2D CAD and basic proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or Creo 3D modeling. 
  5. Fluency in written and spoken English is preferred.
  6. Familiarity with vacuum equipment (e.g., Liquid Ring Pumps, Vane Pumps, Roots Pumps, Dry Screw Pumps, Claw Pumps, Oil-Lubricated Screw Pumps, or similar products) is a plus. 
  7. Experience using SAP and Windchill to conduct product design and manage engineering documentation is a plus. 
  8. Knowledge of Lean tools, DFMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus. 
  9. Strong data management and analytical skills are a plus.
