Job Summary:
The Project Management Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end execution of Engineer-to-Order (ETO) projects, including pump, compressor, and blower packages, across Oil & Gas, Chemical, and Power sectors. The role ensures successful delivery of projects in line with contractual, technical, schedule, and commercial requirements while maintaining profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Project Management & Execution
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle from order intake to final delivery and project closure of ETO packages (NASH Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump, Compressor, and Blower packages), ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
- Lead Kick-Off Meetings with customers to align on project scope, schedule, technical requirements, and deliverables.
- Develop and monitor detailed project schedules (L3/L5) and track progress against milestones.
- Identify project risks, bottlenecks, and deviations, and implement mitigation and corrective actions.
- Monitor and ensure timely completion of key project milestones, including engineering approvals, order placement, customer inspections, material receipt, and manufacturing activities.
- Ensure timely approvals, inspections, and project signoffs from customers.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the single point of contact for clients, ensuring alignment with customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring alignment with expectations.
- Lead project review meetings with stakeholders to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective action plans.
- Collaborate closely with customers, PMC, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient project execution within schedule and budget.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Drive timely procurement of bought-out items and components in adherence to project schedule.
- Conduct vendor Kick-Off Meetings to communicate project expectations, timelines, quality requirements, and documentation deliverables, ensuring clear understanding and alignment.
- Conduct vendor progress reviews and site visits where necessary.
- Drive vendor performance by proactively expediting deliverables through regular follow-ups and, when necessary, conducting site visits to ensure timely submission of documentation and materials.
Commercial & Financial Control
- Maintain full commercial ownership of projects, including budgeting, cost control, and margin management.
- Drive project cash flow and take proactive actions to improve working capital and profitability.
- Ensure timely invoicing, milestone billing, and collection of payments including retention.
- Manage financial instruments such as Bank Guarantees (BGs) and Letters of Credit (LCs) in line with contractual requirements.
Contract & Claims Management
- Interpret and manage project contracts, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
- Initiate, prepare, and submit change order requests to customers for scope modifications, supported with proper technical and commercial justification.
- Assess and communicate the impact of scope changes on cost, schedule, and resources to ensure transparency and alignment with customers.
- Raise and negotiate delivery extension requests with customers in case of delays arising from client inputs, vendor performance, force majeure, or other contractual factors.
- Ensure timely approval of change orders and schedule extensions to protect project margins and minimize contractual risks.
- Maintain accurate tracking and documentation of all variation orders, extension approvals, and related correspondence for contractual compliance and audit readiness.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to project quality standards, inspection, and testing requirements.
- Facilitate and lead HAZOP meetings with customers, ensuring identification and mitigation of potential risks without adding any scope.
- Coordinate customer inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests, ensuring all deliverables comply with approved specifications and standards.
- Ensure full compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and present MIS reports, financial and progress reports to management, highlighting risks, opportunities, and margin performance.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including correspondence records, document control, and preparation/distribution of meeting minutes.
- Prepare and share weekly/monthly progress reports with internal and external stakeholders and participate in review meetings.
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the reporting manager.
Key Competencies:

- Proven expertise in managing complex Engineer-to-Order (ETO) packages across the complete project lifecycle, from pre-order to post-order execution.
- Strong domain knowledge of Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps, Compressors, Blowers, and other rotary equipment, with project experience in Oil & Gas, Chemical, and Power sectors.
- Established track record of successfully working with leading EPCs, LSTK contractors, and PMC clients, including BPCL, IOCL, HPCL, Reliance, HMEL, Essar, BASF, DOW, EIL, Technip, TICB, TKIS, L&T Hydrocarbon, and Fluor.
- Strong cross-functional coordination skills with the ability to effectively interface with Engineering, Procurement, Production, Logistics, and Quality teams while maintaining excellent client relationships.
- Solid experience in implementing and managing project management functions, ensuring alignment with contractual, technical, and commercial requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities in high-pressure and competitive project environments.
- Well-versed in engineering, procurement, manufacturing processes, inspection, testing, and applicable quality standards.
- Proficient in MS Office tools and MS Project for effective planning, scheduling & progress tracking.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with strong proficiency in English.
Basic Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in Project Management, specifically in managing Engineer-to- Order (ETO) packages for the Oil & Gas, Chemical, and Power sectors.
- Experience in executing projects within the Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power industries is essential.
- Prior exposure to EPC, LSTK, and PMC project environments is highly preferred.
