Job Summary

The scope of this position is:

  • To drive distribution business in designated Region (West2 + Central)  to achieve required financial results in accordance with regional strategy and plans
  • To motivate and lead the Regional team of distribution sales managers
  • To comply with all sales management processes
  • To oversee all customer-related activities in designated Region


Responsibilities:  

  • Overall responsibility for full profit and loss accounts in Region, thru managing a team of 4~5 sales employees
  • Develop regional strategy and business plans with support from regional teams to be submitted for approval by Leadership Team
  • Understand, localize and implement market and distribution strategies and enterprise growth opportunities in line with MEIA CTS strategy and within appropriate levels of authority
  • Set sales targets for each product line
  • Overall responsibility for distribution management and distribution expansion for region– directing distribution teams, identifying gaps (revenue, product mix, geographical spread, underperformance of existing distribution channels, rationalization etc)
  • Manage sales product mix for the Region
  • Act as escalation point for customer issues and dispute resolution
  • Conduct appropriate customer courtesy visits and solicit the Voice of the Customer
  • Drive the expansion of new customer and installed bases
  • Recruit, develop, motivate and manage the performance of the regional teams in line with corporate policies and processes
  • Identify, manage and develop top talent in line with corporate policies and processes
  • Reward and recognize the team in line with corporate policies and processes
  • Provide monthly reporting on KPIs
  • Provide monthly forecasting to Leadership Team (units and revenues)
  • Present quarterly business review to Leadership Team for the Region
  • Collect market intelligence from region to report back to Leadership Team
  • Provide feedback and participation in new product development
  • Present a monthly forecast by unit
  • Remain up-to-date with and report on changes in competitor activity.


Qualifications:
B.E. (Mechanical) / MBA
Key Competencies:

  • Proven track record in sales management – preferably mix of distribution and direct sales
  • Good level of negotiation skills at all levels
  • Previous experience of managing teams of sales and service people,
  • Previous experience of working in a matrix management environment
  • Ability to engage support and particular skills from other areas of the business where appropriate
  • Good understanding of local regional market – business sector and local culture
  • Product awareness – ability to engage in commercial discussion around product
  • Good understanding of Ingersoll Rand business processes
  • Willingness to travel within local region and internationally
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Presentation skills – customers, internal senior management and peers
