Job Summary

As a Development Engineer, you will work as a key member of a small engineering team engaged in the design, development and manufacture of Hydrovane industrial compressor products. The work will involve testing and development of Hydrovane compressors and packages including control systems and all ancillary components.

 

Responsibilities

  • Development of new products
  • Re designing and refining existing products
  • Working on i2V initiatives
  • Working with the design team to refine product concepts.
  • Testing prototypes for functionality and longevity in accordance with company standards
  • Assist production with new products and changes to existing components.
  • Work with suppliers for feedback to testing of components and improvements.
  • Collaborate with product management and other business units to develop new technologies and ideas.

 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Ideally educated to degree level in mechanical engineering / product design
  • Or HND or NVQ4 with relevant experience.

 

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Fully site based.

 

Key Competencies

  • High level of PC literacy.
  • Min 2 years work experience in development of rotating machinery or packaging of machinery.
  • Good electrical systems knowledge
  • Use of 2D and 3D CAD systems (Autodesk Inventor preferable) would be advantageous.
  • Self-motivated and pro-active within a team environment.
  • Ability to work to tight timescales.
  • Conceptual thinking and creativity.
