China is one of the main market of Dosatron with sales reaching over 25% of the annual turnover over the past few years. Currently, business is mainly focused on Animal Health market and it is the ambition of Dosatron to continue the development of other key markets such as Irrigation, Water Treatment, Industry and Hygiene. From its experience and knowledge of the Chinese market, Dosatron has identified the Irrigation market as a key market for growth, and wishes to strengthen its presence and knowledge of the main stakeholders of the market. For this reason, we are launching the recruitment of our Irrigation Market Manager.
Mission :
Reporting to the Asia sales Manager, the China Marketing Manager - Irrigation works in close relationship with the China sales team and the Dosatron Operational Marketing team, taking the lead for all Irrigation related actions on the market. He/she keeps close relationship with partners, end users and stakeholders to maintain an updated vision of the Irrigation market development and advise on the best way to promote Dosatron brand & products. He/She supports the sales team‘s commercial actions as well as communication and assists customers & partners with matters related to products’ applications in the field.
His/Her responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reach Dosatron’s global objectives as defined in each year roadmap. He/she shares the responsibilities and participate to the definition of the objectives on his/her region. He/She implements actions and policies decided in the roadmap relating to marketing and support the rest of Dosatron Team on other aspects.
- The Irrigation market being still a market in exploration for DOSATRON, the Market Manager – Irrigation first responsibility will be to draw a clear picture of the market situation, the key players, upcoming projects, applications of interest, to help Dosatron define its strategy for this segment.
- Closely work with Dosatron sales manager and existing Irrigation partners to exploit the existing references and experience of Dosatron and integrate this pragmatic view of the market in the reflection. Help them find new leads and share the understanding of the market. Given the early stage of development of the irrigation market for Dosatron, the irrigation market manager will be deeply involved in commercial activities such as sales, partner selection and development, working in good coordination with the China Sales manager.
- Keep track of the Irrigation market trends from a macro perspective (evolution of the field techniques and levels, follow up actions of leaders in the field, risks and opportunities on the market, government policies…) as well as from a product perspective (Dosatron’s competition, pricing position, possible innovations & substitutions, partnerships…) and advise Dosatron accordingly on the best strategy.
- Accompany, train and advise partners and end-users on technical solutions and solve issues met on sites. The marketing manager will also make the interface with the Operational Marketing & Quality Department at Dosatron Headquarters in order to keep records of the problems and applications met in the field.
- Propose, Organize and implement Dosatron’s participation to related exhibitions and events including: registration, communication, booth construction, hosting of the event…
- Engage with key companies and people in the Irrigation sector in order to promote DOSATRON’s and develop partnerships.
- Implement follow-up tools when necessary, use those in place in the company (CRM for ex.) feed and update datas to gather market intelligence on the AH sector, and facilitate their analysis by the rest of the team.
- Together with the Operational Marketing team: Participate to the development of the Irrigation product line (Green line), services & associated partnerships,
- Keep updated on the local legal and geopolitics situation that may impact Dosatron business.
- Participate to the definition of Dosatron commercial policy alongside the rest of the China team.
- Report regularly to the management on his/her activity as well as provide analysis on the market trend.
Although the position is focused on the Irrigation market, it is possible that the China Marketing Manager - Irrigation will be occasionally asked for support on subjects concerning other segments & applications.
Requirements :
The position needs a good team spirit, openness and a real ownership of the responsibilities. It doesn’t involve any team management at the moment, but could evolve in the future towards mentorship and group leadership as the company and business develop.
Relevant experience in the Agriculture sector is necessary, with a global understanding of the irrigation techniques and knowledge of the equipment involved. Existing network within the sector, with the main companies involved in the Chinese Agriculture market will be a key asset for the position.
The position is based in China with flexibility on the work location. Frequent travels on a national level are required to visit customers, exhibitions and for internal meetings. Occasional international travel (2-3 times/year) to French headquarters and exhibitions within the Asian region might be required as well.
