Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant at our Sidney, OH Ingersoll Rand/LeRoi Manufacturing Location!  Around since the early 1900's, the LeRoi brand gas compressors produced in Sidney are one of the world's leading compressed gas systems and along with our parent company Ingersoll Rand, has built a reputation as a manufacturer of choice and an industry leader! This manufacturing facility is currently ramping up business to soon produce biofuel compressors, providing a sustainable solution to our customers, making this an fascinating time to join the team!  

 

Job Summary

The Accountant position reports to the Plant Controller and should be a strategic team player with a positive attitude, be proactive, manage complex tasks, and possess a high attention to detail. The Accountant will be located onsite and must have the ability to collaborate with peers and management, both at the Sidney location, as well as with our other manufacturing locations, and demonstrate exceptional judgement and a high degree of professional maturity.


Responsibilities:  

  • Supports annual standard cost process
  • Assists with calculating and reporting cycle count metrics and related reconciliations
  • Completes all monthly reports on a timely basis with zero defects
  • Reviews transactions to insure proper impact on perpetual and G/L records
  • Reviews variances to determine cause
  • Proactively seeks out ways to improve processes and accuracy and drive efficiency
  • Monitor processes and controls relating to inventory transactions and reporting failures and areas for improvement
  • Natural curiosity to understand workflows and how actions throughout the warehouse impact other areas
  • History of taking initiative and being solution-oriented
  • Report on variances from standard costs, understanding root cause and corrective actions
  • Performs the monthly accounting close process, balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry postings
  • Support compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and related audits
  • Assists excess and obsolete inventory review
  • Support site payables process
  • Other adhoc requests/analysis/projects


Qualifications:

  • Degree in accounting 
  • Experience with SAP a plus
  • Analytical skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP and SOX
  • Strong PC skills (Excel, Access, Power-Point) required
  • Experience with Hyperion Consolidation tools a plus
  • Proven ability to work well in a cross-functional and remote environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple critical projects in a fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely across all levels of the organization

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in an Accounting or Finance related field required; advanced degree or chartered certification (CMA, CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • 1 to 2+ Years in Manufacturing Finance with direct costing accounting experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP and SOX
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Strong PC skills (Excel, Access, Power-Point) required
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx a plus
  • Experience with Hyperion Consolidation tools a plus
  • Proven ability to work well in a cross-functional and remote environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple critical projects in a fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely across all levels of the organization
