The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis. This role requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with reporting standards and company policies.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Manage accounts payable, receivable processes, travelling & employee expenses claims, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Assist with monthly accrual for employee claims & freight costs
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business planning and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including GST filings, corporate tax submissions, and liaising with external auditors or tax authorities as needed.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, or opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support operational initiatives.
  • Maintain proper documentation and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure audit readiness.
  • Contribute to process improvements and the implementation of financial systems or tools as required.

Requirements/Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in Big 4, multinational corporation or manufacturing industry.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
