PARTS INTERPRETER

Job Objective:

To represent CAPS Australia as the first point of contact for all enquiries related to the sale and technical interpretation of spare parts associated with the CAPS product portfolio. This role plays a key part in supporting both local branch operations and the broader National Parts Group (NPG), contributing to the delivery of efficient, effective, and customer-focused parts services

 

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales Support:

  Act as the primary contact for internal and external customers seeking spare parts information, quotations, and technical advice.

  Provide accurate and timely interpretation of parts requirements across CAPS product lines.

  Process orders and manage customer enquiries with professionalism and attention to detail.

Branch Collaboration:

  Actively contribute to the success of the Newcastle Branch by supporting team members with parts and stores-related knowledge.

  Assist in local inventory management, stock control, and dispatch activities as required.

  Participate in branch meetings and initiatives to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

National Parts Group Support:

  Collaborate with other members of the NPG to share technical knowledge, manage workload, and implement best practices.

  Assist in the development and refinement of processes that enhance the performance and capacity of the NPG.

  Support national projects and initiatives aimed at improving parts interpretation and customer satisfaction.

 

Relationships: 

Internal:

  Branch team members (Sales, Service, Stores)

  National Parts Group colleagues

  Branch Manager and National Parts Group Manager

  CAPS Technical and Engineering teams

External:

  CAPS customers and clients

  Suppliers and manufacturers (for parts sourcing and technical clarification)

  Freight and logistics providers

 

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  Proven experience in a parts interpretation or technical sales role, preferably within industrial or mechanical sectors.

  Strong understanding of mechanical components and systems.

  Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  Proficiency in inventory and ERP systems (e.g., Pronto or similar).

  High attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

  Proven experience in a parts interpretation or technical sales role, preferably within industrial or mechanical sectors.
