CNC Machinist I - 3rd Shift

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Sets up and manufactures products using processes as directed in routing documents and drawings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of the Machinist include the following job duties.  The responsibilities are not limited to these tasks.
 

  • Loads, unloads, and checks parts from CNC (computer numeric controlled) machine
  • Performs set ups on drill press or other manual equipment.
  • Performs in process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other standard inspection tools with supervision.
  • Replaces dull tooling.
  • Works the de-burr area.
  • Uses hand press to install and remove bushings or pins.
  • Ensures workplace safety and workplace organization (5-S).
  • Models Ingersoll Rand Values in the workplace.
  • Writes follow up reports and documents issues and concerns for next shift.
  • Self-motivated and flexible; willing to shift priorities as needed.
  • Able to work in a team environment; good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willing to participate in continuous learning opportunities as part of job and personal development.
  • Assists Machinist II and Machinist III when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
 

  • Language skills:  read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, blueprints, drawings, etc.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and effectively present information to other employees.
  • Mathematical skills:  Basic shop math; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
 

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; (secondary education is a plus).
  • Minimum 1 years machining experience or Technical College equivalent.
