Technical Sales Engineer OEM Chiller

 

Job Summary

The Technical Sales Engineer OEM Chiller is responsible for providing technical and commercial support to OEM customers and the sales organization throughout the entire pre-sales process. The role involves analyzing customer requirements, developing optimized chiller and heat pump solutions, preparing technical proposals and quotations, and serving as the key technical interface between customers, sales, product management, engineering, and manufacturing teams. The position contributes to business growth by supporting customer acquisition, retention, and new product development initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to OEM customers for chillers, heat pumps, and thermal management solutions.
  • Analyze customer specifications and application requirements to identify optimal product solutions.
  • Prepare technical selections, performance calculations, and system recommendations.
  • Develop and review technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with sales and product management teams.
  • Support the quotation process by ensuring technical accuracy and commercial feasibility.
  • Conduct technical presentations, training sessions, and product demonstrations for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary technical contact during the pre-sales phase of OEM projects.
  • Collaborate with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and product management teams to support customer-specific requirements.
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) activities by providing market feedback and customer insights.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies within the HVAC and OEM sectors.
  • Participate in customer meetings, factory visits, trade shows, and technical reviews.
  • Assist in the transition of projects from the sales phase to order execution and project management teams.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and company policies. 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, chillers, heat pumps, or OEM applications.
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics, compressors, heat exchangers, and hydronic systems.
  • Experience in technical sales support, application engineering, or pre-sales engineering roles.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technical selection software.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

 

Travel & Work Arrangements 

  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 20-40% of working time, depending on business needs.
  • Ability to participate in customer meetings, site visits, factory acceptance tests, and industry events.
