Machinist in St. Peter's, MO

First Shift: Monday - Friday 6 am - 4:30 pm 

Pay Starting at $26+/hr. Depending on Experience

Our Gardner Denver Nash division of Ingersoll Rand in St. Peter's, MO is hiring for a full time Machinist. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• Performs set ups of large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump components and operations of large Vertical & Horizontal Lathes used to repair and overhaul Large Liquid Rind Vacuum Pumps & Compressors.
• Interprets blueprints/drawings to determine critical dimensions, etc.
• Able to read Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Dial Indicators & other precision measuring & test equipment as required.
• Able to maintain low tolerances as indicted by specifications or drawings as low as .0005” at times.
• Understands how to select appropriate cutting tools for various metals
• Understands how to determine speeds and feeds to obtain proper surface finish
• Able to work overtime; typically throughout the week and occasionally on weekends.
• Safe operation of Forklift within a Machine Shop environment
• Lifting and Rigging of heavy components of various configurations & weights
• Safe Over Head Crane operation
• Adheres to all company EH&S & QMS processes
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
• Assisting in the disassembly, reassembly, repair and rebuilding of Large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps

Experience Required: 

• Previous experience setting up and operating large Manual Vertical & Horizontal Lathe.
• Strong Mechanical Aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret standard and metric dimensions from blueprints
• Ability to perform basic preventative maintenance on operations of Vertical & Horizontal Lathes.

Education/Training Required:

• Technical/vocational degree in Machining highly desired.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Good communications skills necessary.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate knowledge of machine setup, as well as usage of machine controls and capabilities.
